Job Overview:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Lead Gardener to manage a team of 2-3 gardeners in maintaining and servicing garden sites across the region. As the Crew Lead, you will be responsible for providing direction to your team, ensuring the completion of tasks, and maintaining high-quality standards in every project. This role requires both leadership and hands-on skills to manage a range of gardening duties, from general maintenance to seasonal cleanups. You will also play a key role in training new employees and coordinating with other teams and management.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Supervise and manage a team of 2-3 gardeners, providing guidance and support throughout daily tasks.<\/li>\n
  • Train new employees as needed, ensuring they understand company standards and safety protocols.<\/li>\n
  • Travel to multiple garden sites across the region in a company vehicle.<\/li>\n
  • Perform various gardening tasks, including weeding, edging, pruning, trimming shrubs, and mulching garden beds.<\/li>\n
  • Oversee Spring and Fall clean-ups, ensuring gardens are well-prepared for the changing seasons.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure all tasks are completed thoroughly and on time, reporting daily progress to management.<\/li>\n
  • Coordinate with other crews and management to ensure timely completion of projects.<\/li>\n
  • Maintain and properly load\/unload tools and equipment for each job.<\/li>\n
  • Transition to snow removal and salting duties during the winter months (on-call availability).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Education:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    • Horticultural Technician Diploma or related field of study<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Qualifications:<\/strong><\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Proven experience in gardening or landscaping.<\/li>\n
      • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.<\/li>\n
      • Ability to train and develop new employees effectively.<\/li>\n
      • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.<\/li>\n
      • Excellent communication and organizational skills.<\/li>\n
      • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles.<\/li>\n
      • Knowledge of landscaping tools and equipment.<\/li>\n
      • Must be able to perform physical labor, including lifting and carrying equipment.<\/li>\n
      • Availability for on-call snow removal duties during winter months.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
