Responsibilities include assisting with payroll and benefits, recruitment, onboarding, and ensuring compliance with HR policies. This role also contributes to the development and implementation of policies, training, orientation, and health and safety initiatives.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1085\" data-end=\"1088\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"1090\" data-end=\"1116\">Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Manages job postings, resume screening, and interview scheduling.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates onboarding activities and prepares new hire documentation and employee files.<\/li>\n<li>Oversees the Health and Safety program and ensures compliance with all related regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Manages WSIB claims and related documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Processes bi-weekly payroll accurately and in compliance with provincial regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Maintains payroll records and ensures proper deductions for taxes, benefits, and other withholdings.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the administration employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.<\/li>\n<li>Serves as the first point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries.<\/li>\n<li>Supports employee engagement and wellness initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>Maintains and updates employee records in both digital and physical formats.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures compliance with employment laws and internal HR policies.<\/li>\n<li>Assists in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Promotes and ensures adherence to all Health and Safety regulations and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Assists with disciplinary actions up to and including dismissal.<\/li>\n<li>Drafts general forms, letters, reports, and memos as necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Supports HR events, training logistics, and the CARF certification process.<\/li>\n<li>Responds to internal and external HR-related inquiries from employees, managers, and partners.<\/li>\n<li>Actively supports and promotes the mission, vision, and values of Goodwill Industries Niagara.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"2014\" data-end=\"2017\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"2019\" data-end=\"2054\">Qualifications &amp; Requirements<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"2019\" data-end=\"2054\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Post-secondary diploma or Graduate Certificate in Human Resources<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2019\" data-end=\"2054\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Working towards CHRP designation an asset<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2019\" data-end=\"2054\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">1 year of experience in an HR support role, with payroll responsibilities<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2019\" data-end=\"2054\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Experience with Health and Safety Administration<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2019\" data-end=\"2054\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Knowledge of Ontario employment standards and payroll legislation<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2019\" data-end=\"2054\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Strong problem identification and resolution skills<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2019\" data-end=\"2054\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2019\" data-end=\"2054\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal English)<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2019\" data-end=\"2054\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2019\" data-end=\"2054\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2019\" data-end=\"2054\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Valid Driver\u2019s License and valid automobile insurance<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2019\" data-end=\"2054\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">CPR\/First Aid certificate an asset<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2019\" data-end=\"2054\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Complete and maintain a clean criminal reference check<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is a fully on\u2011site position.
