Through safe housing, access to culture, quality childcare, education, life skills, reliable transportation, and coordinated case management, we provide comprehensive, culturally grounded support. In this role, you will work collaboratively to empower participants to achieve their goals, from completing post-secondary education to securing sustainable, career-track employment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualification &amp; Requirements<\/strong><br \/>\nA 2-year College Diploma in Social Service Work, or a related field.<br \/>\nPrevious experience in a similar role is an asset<br \/>\nMust have or be able to obtain a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check (CPIC).<br \/>\nMust hold a valid Ontario Class G driver\u2019s license with a clean driver\u2019s abstract.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nSupport Indigenous women, particularly sole parents, in achieving education, employment, and training goals through coordinated access to childcare, transportation, health, mental health, and other supports.<br \/>\nProvide case management services, including tracking participant progress, maintaining program database records, and preparing quarterly reports.<br \/>\nProcess supportive housing applications and provide advocacy services as needed.<br \/>\nPlan and facilitate culturally relevant workshops, presentations, special events, and community engagement activities.<br \/>\nBuild and maintain connections with Indigenous and non-Indigenous agencies, organizations, and services to support clients experiencing mental health challenges.<br \/>\nIn coordination with, and in the absence of, the Program Coordinator, manage program budgets and maintain accurate records.<br \/>\nIncorporate FENFC cultural teachings and values into all service delivery.<br \/>\nTravel as required and work some evenings and weekends.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge &amp; Skills<\/strong><br \/>\nStrong understanding of Traditional Cultural knowledge and the ability to apply it when supporting community members, using an Indigenous perspective alongside awareness of western approaches.<br \/>\nAwareness of the cultural, social, and practical needs, barriers, and goals of Indigenous women, with care, compassion, and the ability to build genuine connections.<br \/>\nStrong organizational skills, including planning, meeting deadlines, and working well both independently and as part of a team.<br \/>\nExcellent communication skills, including facilitating discussions and delivering engaging presentations.<br \/>\nProficiency in computer use and digital tools for program materials and marketing.<br \/>\nKnowledge of the Fort Erie Native Friendship Centre, as well as surrounding Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations, to help connect community members, youth, and families with appropriate supports.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits of working at the Fort Erie Native Friendship Centre<\/strong><br \/>\nComprehensive employee health and dental benefits package.<br \/>\nSupportive, inclusive, and culturally grounded workplace.<br \/>\nOpportunities for professional growth and training.<br \/>\nA collaborative team environment dedicated to community wellness and positive change.<br \/>\nParticipation in special events and cultural programming.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Apply:<\/strong><br \/>\nSubmit a complete application package including:<br \/>\n&#8211; Two recent employment related reference contacts listed<br \/>\n&#8211; Cover Letter<br \/>\n&#8211; Resume<br \/>\n&#8211; Copies of relevant Diplomas\/Certificates<\/p>\n<p>Applications are preferred via email to Katkwenyes@fenfc.org to the attention of Melissa Shongo.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, application packages may be delivered in person to the Front Desk Receptionist.
