We manufacture products such as various types of curtain systems, roll up walls, monorail systems, fabrics, transportation carts, as well as food and pharmaceutical products.<\/p>\n<p>We are seeking a Full-time <strong>Industrial Sewing Machine Operator<\/strong> to join the team. The ideal candidate is able to operate an industrial sewing machine, meet product assembly standards, great attention to detail, and has a strong work ethic, reliable, with a positive attitude.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Operate industrial sewing machine\/Grommet machine<\/li>\n<li>Sew, mark and cut materials according to VRE specifications drawings and\/or Production Supervisor direction<\/li>\n<li>Complete vinyl welding orders using a RD welding machine and\/or hot air welder<\/li>\n<li>Roll, fold package and label materials and products up to 50lbs<\/li>\n<li>Effectively and safely follow all operating procedures, direction from Supervisor(s) and Health &amp; Safety policies<\/li>\n<li>Quality control: inspection of materials and products, identifying errors, defects and fine details<\/li>\n<li>Work collaboratively within a team to complete task and projects assigned<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a clean and organized workstation\/environment<\/li>\n<li>Assist other VRE departments as requested<\/li>\n<li>Work in compliance with all applicable Health and Safety, workplace, and WHMIS requirements<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient company operations<\/li>\n<li>Duties and responsibilities may be amended from time to time to meet changing operational requirements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school diploma or equivalent education or experience<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of both Imperial and Metric measurements; ability to accurately use measuring tools<\/li>\n<li>Ability to read, understand, and work from VRE specification drawings<\/li>\n<li>Ability to safely operate industrial sewing equipment and other production machinery required for the position; to safely use a variety of hand and power tools, including drills and saws<\/li>\n<li>Effective communicator; verbally and in writing<\/li>\n<li>Ability to interact with others sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally<\/li>\n<li>Ability to prioritize work and manage competing production demands; to adapt and respond effectively in a dynamic and changing production environment<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team<\/li>\n<li>Previous industrial sewing experience is preferred<\/li>\n<li>Strong attention to detail, math &amp; problem-solving skills, organized individual<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This person may occasionally need to lift up to 50lbs<\/li>\n<li>Physically capable: sit\/stand for long periods and lift up to 50lbs<\/li>\n<li>Repetitive movements associated with sewing, cutting, welding, and material handling<\/li>\n<li>We are an industrial and manufacturing work setting, must be able to effectively work in a loud and busy setting with frequent interruptions<\/li>\n<li>Team environment fostering a culture of inclusiveness and acceptance<\/li>\n<li>Personal protective equipment must be worn as required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Transportation\/Travel Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We are in Grassie, ON, near Grimsby, however public transportation does NOT come to our location, requiring employees to have their own
