In this role, you will assist with daily tasks, teach essential life skills, and plan engaging or practical outings within the community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Daily Support:<\/strong> Assist individuals with daily living activities, including meal preparation, light housekeeping, and personal care.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Community Engagement:<\/strong> Transport and accompany individuals to medical appointments, local stores, and community events.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Skill Development:<\/strong> Coach and teach new life skills to foster greater independence.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Companionship &amp; Emotional Support:<\/strong> Provide safe, empathetic emotional support and build meaningful connections.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Documentation &amp; Medication:<\/strong> Maintain clear daily progress notes and administer medication as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Education:<\/strong> Developmental Service Worker Diploma or a college diploma in a related social services field.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Certifications:<\/strong> Current First Aid and CPR certifications.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Background Check:<\/strong> Clean criminal record check with a Vulnerable Sector Screening.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Driving Record:<\/strong> Valid G Class driver\u2019s license with a clean driving record.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Core Skills:<\/strong> Kind, patient, and strong interpersonal communication skills; safe problem-solving abilities; basic computer literacy for daily reporting; and a team-oriented mindset for collaborating with families and healthcare professionals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Why Join Us?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Community Living Port Colborne-Wainfleet is a person-centered organization dedicated to empowering both our community and team.
