
Overview of program
- 3 weeks of pre-employment workshops (in person or online)
- A job placement in an area of interest
- Participants will receive an hourly wage for all pre- employment sessions and job placement
- Pre-employment and life skill training is provided to prepare for and maintain job placements
Who is eligible
- Between the ages of 15 and 30
- Not collecting employment insurance
- Not attending school full time
- Having a difficult time securing employment for various reasons
Youth Will
- Work with an employment counsellor to secure work placement at an employer in their community
- Earn money (hourly minimum wage) while gaining valuable life and work experience
- Receive on-going support from employment counsellors throughout the program
- Learn new skills and strategies that will make placement and future employment goals more successful
- Receive certification training in First Aid & CPR, WHMIS, National Safe Food Handling, Service Excellence, Safe Talk and Smart Serve
Also Included
- Additional supports are available if needed such as child care, transportation, clothing – this will be determined on an individual basis
- Transportation to attend in person workshops can be provided
