Location YMCA Employment Services offices – St. Catharines, Niagara Falls or Thorold.

 

Pay 17.50/hr plus YMCA Membership Benefits

 

Employment Type Contracted Full Time – 40 hrs/week

 

Placement Date Immediately until March 2023 with the potential for renewal

 NATURE & SCOPE

 The Database Administrator is responsible for coordinating collection, maintenance, analysis and distribution of administrative information used to produce internal and external reports which require analysis and comparison.  This position works closely with Management, the Employment Coaching Team and data processing staff.  Work is performed mostly independently under the general direction of the Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assumes direct responsibility for the collecting, editing/correcting, processing, and distribution of data required in the government and YMCA of Niagara data information systems; EOIS/CAMs and FCC.
  • Consults with Managers and Employment Services front line staff concerning the importance of data requirements, and assists in providing feedback information to them.
  • Recommends and implements new operating methods to improve data flow, collection, editing, processing and distribution.
  • Identifies updates regarding data management and reporting requirements by monitoring data sources including government web pages (EO Partners Gateway)
  • Assists in the preparation of reports and government narratives and Business Plans
  • Provides oversight to the government on-line self referral system (EOSS)
  • Manages information/files on the YMCA of Niagara Employment and Newcomers Services server
  • Provides support to Resource and Information Area as needed; directs clients, conducts customer service follow up calls to clients including gathering employment information and inputting this information into government databases
  • Responsible for tracking all spending for various program(s), entering appropriate financial records into the Government Database and reconciling to the YMCA of Niagara ledger and financial systems
  • Responsible for purchasing resources, training supports or office supplies on an as needed basis
  • Other projects and responsibilities as required

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Related Post-Secondary Education in Office Administration, Executive Office Administration or Business Management
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with data entry in complex database systems requiring high level of detail and accuracy
  • Minimum 1 year experience in data analysis and reporting for management and/or government
  • Experience working with EOIS and CaMS database systems as asset (or Access-based systems)
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Mircrosoft Excel and Access
  • Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for a variety of audiences
  • A clear and satisfactory criminal reference check inclusive of the vulnerable sector search (CRC VSS) issued for the YMCA of Niagara
  • Successful applicants will be required to adhere to the YMCA of Niagara COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
