Commisso’s Fresh Foods offer a wide variety of products that range from our in-house kitchen and bakery to imports from all over Europe. When choosing the right products to carry, we focus on fresh, organic, and specialty products that cannot be found within Niagara Region.
Our customers depend on us to provide excellent products and accurate knowledge when it comes to purchasing groceries for their families. In the role of Grocery Retail Associate, you will be responsible for assisting the management team in the achievement of store and departmental goals and ensuring quality service to all employees, customers, and suppliers.
Commisso’s Fresh Foods has an immediate opening for a part-time Grocery Retail Associate. This is a 3-month position, with the possibility to extend.
What you’ll do:
- Greet customers and answer questions in a friendly manner;
- Proactively assist and provide accurate and timely information to customers, make product/service recommendations, and accommodate special requests;
- Maintain the overall appearance of the grocery department, ensuring cases, displays, and tables are well-merchandised and properly signed to showcase quality;
- Prepare, package, sort, and price/label goods for customers;
- Stock and rotate products in all displays, and ensure that none are past the sell-by date;
- Provide excellent customer service;
- Comply with all Commisso’s policies and procedures and maintain customer confidentiality.
- Other duties as required.
What you will need to succeed:
- Previous experience in a grocery store or related food-handling role is considered an asset;
- Exceptional customer service skills;
- Clear and effective communication style, both written and oral;
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills;
- Must be self-motivated, efficient, and customer-focused;
- Must be able to lift thirty (30) pounds;
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time; and
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
