Henry of Pelham Family Estate Winery is looking to hire a Harvest Cellar Hand.
Henry of Pelham Family Estate Winery was established with our first vintage in 1988. At that time we were one of a very few estate wineries dedicated to producing premium quality wines made from 100% Ontario grown grapes. Today, Henry of Pelham is a 200K+ case producer in Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula.
Henry of Pelham is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team for the 2019 harvest. This position would run from the beginning of September to the beginning of December. There is potential for this role to lead into a full time position for the right candidate.
Duties:
We are looking for someone to join our production team to work in either the Crush Pad or Cellars:
Crush Pad
-Responsible for set up and clean up of all crush pad equipment
-Fruit receival (weighing, sampling, processing)
-Operating crusher/destemmer, pumps, presses
Cellars
-Rackings/transfers of juice and wine
-Innoculations, additions, pump overs/punch downs
-Drain and press of red ferments
-Barrel work: filling, additions, stirring, topping
-Cleaning and sanitizing of tanks, lines, equipment
All positions will require the ability to lift 25kg and ability to work at heights. During harvest there will be a requirement to work flexible hours (including days/evenings/nights/weekends). Previous experience with winery work is an asset.
