Position Summary

Your main responsibilities as the Room Attendant is to perform routine duties in cleaning and servicing of guest rooms. The successful candidate is responsible for reporting any deficiencies and handling guest requests. The Room attendant promotes a positive image of the property to guests. The right fit is a pleasant, honest and friendly individual. We are looking to hire for part-time leading to full-time based on industry needs.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Receive the task sheet for the shift from management/supervisors.
  • Load up the housekeeping cart with the necessary linen, amenities and cleaning products/materials.
  • Check vacant/clean rooms as per list handed by management/supervisors.
  • Clean guest rooms including but not limited to: changing bed linens, scrubbing bathroom, dusting, wiping all surfaces.
  • Vacuum and or sweep room and hallways.
  • Report maintenance issues.
  • Assist other Room Attendants as requested.
  • Ensure that the housekeeping cart is fully stocked with supplies and cleaning products/materials at the end of shift.
  • Report low stock of amenities, supplies and cleaning product.
  • Follow all company environmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide guests with efficient and professional service with the ultimate goal of increasing guest satisfaction. Exceed guest expectations in all interactions.
  • Follow all hotel’s fire, security, health and safety policies and procedures.


  • Keen attention to detail. Strong focus on customer service.
  • A working knowledge of applicable sanitation standards.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length and be able to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 120 lbs. on a regular and continuous basis.
  • Must be able to bend, squat and stretch to fulfil cleaning tasks.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different floors of the hotel on a timely basis.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
  • Flexible to work all shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel is an asset.
  • Flexibility and willingness to multi-task.
