Framer/ Back-Framer/Rough-in
Hiring a 1st or 2nd year Apprentice
Job Description
• Framing Drop ceilings, build and install bulkheads, frame underside stairs, build bath tubs, etc
• Carry lumber in to the units/houses
• Measure and cut lumber
• Able too move with a good and fast pace
Requirements
• Previous knowledge/experience in framing construction or related field or fast learner.
• Able to pick up on skills fast.
• Read a tape measure
• Great attitude and must want to learn the trade
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions and all aspects of wood framing conditions
• Strong work ethic
• Attention to detail
• Self-motivated, must be self-driven
• Knowledge and experience using power saws and nail guns.
• Must have safety boots, hard hat, tool pouch with basic tools (hammer, chalk line, tape measure, utility knife, etc).
• A personal vehicle to get to different job sites around.
• You must take pride in your work and care about the final look and outcome of the project.
• You must be willing to partake in any courses which may be crucial to the job
This will be a full-time position all year round. If you are hard-working, dedicated and enjoy spending most of your day outdoors, (but in the house/units) then you will enjoy back framing. Not many people can do what we do. This is a stable position and reliable paycheck. I’m also looking for a long term employee looking for the same.
Wages based on experience for apprentices ranging from 15-25.00
For experienced back framers wages will be by piece work or by the hour
Work is located from Niagara region all through to Hamilton, Kitchener, and Brantford region
Hours are 7-5 Monday to Friday maybe Saturdays depends on how busy we are
