Part-Time Florist (1 Position)
Job Description
Fantastic opportunity for a strong, energetic individual who is looking for a long-term permanent position. We are currently looking for an experienced Florist for our Fort Erie location. Responsibilities and Duties
-Handle customer service streams including online, in person, and phone orders
-Increase average sales by offering education based guidelines, and upsells (balloons, chocolates, crystals, plush toys)
-Prepare floral orders in a timely manner
-Maintain tight timelines for fulfilling customer orders
-Exhibit a flexible design style.
-Proficient in inventory management, both fresh products and dry goods
-Understand and meet company quality control requirements
-Proper flower handling practices including processing and rotation
-Flower processing and cooler maintenance
-Basic knowledge of plants, such as succulents, orchids, tropicals, air plants, bulbs, etc.
-Occasional deliveries
-Merchandising skills
-Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude at all times
Qualifications and Skills
-Strong work ethic with a positive, energetic approach
-Attention to detail and time costs
-Ability to lead by example
-Excellent organizational skills
-Computer knowledge
-Ability to work under pressure
-Ability to stand for extended period of times
-Physically capable of unloading floral and hard goods deliveries and lifting up to 50lbs
-A clean driving record
You must be willing to work some weekends and extended hours during the 3 major flower industry holidays: Christmas, Valentines Day and Mother’s Day.
TELEFLORA knowledge is a great asset.
Salary based on experience.
Minimum 3 years floral design experience required.
