Enjoy your summer as you work in an outdoor environment as part of a fun and dynamic team! The lifeguard provides the expertise, experience and skills required for the safety and security of Guests and Team Members participating in all water activities To supervise the safety and security of all Guests ensuring their enjoyment in all water areas of Windmill Point Park by preventing and responding to emergencies Maintain order in swimming areas, caution swimmers against unsafe areas or activities and ensure that Windmill Point Park water policies are being followed Provide constant vigilance when on patrol. Conduct a daily inspection of waterfront areas to ensure that it is free of hazards and debris and inspect swimming areas for cleanliness. Comply with Windmill Point Park’s Health and Safety procedures and operating procedures at all times. The lifeguard may be required to assist in other duties around the campground. Windmill Point Park expects the support of all Team Members in fulfilling objectives that may not be specific to this position

Days of work: Varies to needs Hours of work: 30-40 hours Shift work may be required

Job Requirements

Specialized knowledge and certifications:

Valid NLS (National Lifeguarding Service) Valid Standard First aid and CPR-C Valid PADI or NAUI SCUBA Diving Certificates a plus Must be skilled in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques Must be able to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations Must be guest service focused and create a positive campground image in every interaction with internal and external Guests Positive attitude and outgoing personality is essential. Must be personable, enthusiastic, self-motivated Must be able to work independently as well as interact with Team Members in a professional and positive manner to foster good rapport, promote team spirit and ensure effective two way communication Must possess strong organizational and time management skills and pay attention to detail Demonstrate personal ownership of tasks and follow through to get the required results. Be able to maintain a high level of product and service knowledge on order to provide information about services and facilities to guests

Position available until Labour Day weekend.
