Wage: $54,502.50 – $58,402.50 yearly

Hours of Work: 35 – 44 per week

Requirements:

  • College and/or University Diploma/Degree in: Early Childhood Education or; Child and Youth Care/Worker or; Recreation and Leisure or; Ontario Teacher’s College or; Other acceptable post-secondary equivalent
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a leadership role supervising/managing child and youth programs – At time of hire
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance Valid only if obtained within 6 months or less – Must have at time of hire or proof of purchase with receipt
  • Immunizations Records – At time of hire
  • Standard First Aid/CPR C – Must be valid at time of hire
  • Food Handlers – Can obtain during employment
  • High Five – Can obtain during employment
  • Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle – At time of hire

Duties and Responsibilities:

The role is structured across three core areas of responsibility:

1. Ontario After School Program Oversight (Port Colborne & Thorold)
Provide overall leadership and operational oversight of the Ontario After School Program in Port Colborne and Thorold, including any assigned satellite programs. Responsibilities include ensuring programs are delivered in accordance with organizational standards, funder requirements, and applicable legislation; supporting staffing, scheduling, and registration processes; monitoring enrollment, attendance, and performance; and addressing operational or compliance issues in collaboration with the Programs Director.

2. Program Quality Assurance & Accreditation
Lead the organization’s quality assurance efforts for assigned programs, including conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with BGC Niagara policies, governing body standards, and legislative requirements. Provide oversight of the organization’s Learning and Impact work, and HIGH FIVE Accredited Organization status, including coordination of training, evaluations, audits, and verification processes. Support continuous quality improvement by identifying gaps, recommending corrective actions, and monitoring outcomes.

3. Grant Application, Implementation & Reporting
Manage the application, implementation, and reporting requirements for BGC Canada grants and other funding sources as assigned. Ensure grant deliverables are implemented as approved, financial and participation data are accurately tracked, and reporting obligations are completed on time. Collaborate with internal teams to align grant-funded initiatives with organizational priorities and program standards.
