We are currently seeking an experienced 2nd Chef / Banquet Cook to join our team for the upcoming season.
Position: 2nd Chef / Banquet Cook
Employment Type: Seasonal
Hours: 20–40 hours per week, depending on event bookings
Compensation: $20.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience
Location: Various event locations
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with and lead food preparation and execution for catered events
- Plan, organize, and execute menus to company standards
- Ensure exceptional food quality, presentation, and consistency
- Manage inventory, ordering, and stock rotation
- Monitor food and labour costs while maintaining quality standards
- Lead and support kitchen staff during event preparation and service
- Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations
- Coordinate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless event execution
- Set up, transport, and manage food service operations at event locations
- Provide exceptional customer service and contribute to a positive team environment
Qualifications
Required:
- 5–10 years of experience as a Chef, Banquet Cook, or similar culinary position
- Valid Class G Driver’s License
- Reliable vehicle and ability to travel to event locations
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong experience in:
- Menu Planning and Execution
- Staff Leadership and Team Development
- Quality and Cost Control
- Inventory Management
- Food Safety, Sanitation, and Workplace Safety
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience coordinating with both kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Commitment to professionalism, customer satisfaction, and respectful team leadership
