Essential Responsibilities & Requirments:

• Communicate directly with onsite customer personnel, inspectors, and D&D personnel to ensure job requirements and scheduling requirements are communicated to all involved parties.
• Perform daily circle check and inspection of equipment along with general housekeeping.
• Check, lubricate, refuel and clean equipment and report any malfunctions to the supervisor and/or shop.
• Ensure the set up of equipment.
• Operate heavy equipment such as tool cats, backhoes, compaction rollers, loaders and graders to excavate, move, load and grade earth, rock, gravel or other materials during construction and related activities.
• Work directly with the Shouldering Supervisor.
• Complete daily field ticket and work order reports.
• Adhere to the OHSA safety requirements and as set out by D&D.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Will be required to work out of town on a regular basis (Monday through Friday) with overnight stays required.

Qualifications:

•  3 + years’ experience in a road construction/maintenance environment.
• Mechanical aptitude with substantial heavy equipment operation experience.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• AZ/DZ license is an asset.

**Willingness to travel across Ontario during the work week (Monday–Friday). Hotel accommodations and per diem provided.
