Job Description

Jordan Architectural is a fabricator of commercial building enclosure systems, especially curtain wall systems. Based in Niagara, we serve major U.S. markets.  We are seeking a part-time HR Generalist as outlined below.

Role 

  • Oversees the human resources function and executes duties to help maximize the quality, stability and efficiency of the organization.

Duties

  • Posts approved ads on selected job boards.
  • Conducts other recruiting practices to find and attract suitable candidates.
  • Performs initial screening interviews and shortlists the best candidates.
  • Checks references and vets candidates with former employers.
  • Presents a shortlist with observations to the hiring manager.
  • Generates draft job offers and related documents for the hiring manager.
  • Administers onboarding and orientation of new employees.
  • Advises the supervisor on compliance with Ontario labour laws and regulations.
  • Advises the supervisor on compliance with safety and human rights regulations.
  • Helps set and communicate human resources policies.
  • Administers, and advises on, pay and benefits for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Periodically researches and reports typical remuneration for various roles.
  • Maintains and updates confidential employee files and records.
  • Provides advice and support for legally sound disciplinary action.
  • Provides advice and support for a layoff or termination.
  • Performs other human resources and administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements 

  • University degree or college diploma.
  • At least five years of experience as an HR professional.
  • Understanding of Ontario labour and safety law and related regulations.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Cordial, diplomatic, diligent, punctual, and well-organized.
  • Good command of standard oral and written English.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Assets 

  • HR experience working in a construction or technical services company.
  • HR experience with hourly workers in a non-union environment.
