Full-Time Industrial Electrician (1 Position)

Job Description

Electrician – permanent position $36.00/hr + shift prem. to start  

SHIFTS:                        Continental Rotation (7 to 7)

LOCATION:                   Hamilton, Ontario

Qualifications:

* Minimum Grade 12 education

* Industrial Electrician (422A) certification (Red Seal)
* 3 yrs+ experience in a high volume parts manufacturing environment

* Prior experience with maintenance of presses or furnaces an asset
* Must have experience performing preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment
* Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, conveyors, motors
* Able to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and manufacturer’s manuals to determine how a problem is to be approached

* Strong analytical and problem solving skills required

* Good communication and interpersonal skills required

* Able to communicate effectively with peers and managers

* Able to take charge of projects and assigned tasks

* Able to create material lists and provide input on most efficient install options for equipment and perform the installs

* Strong safety orientation and ability to follow proper safety procedures (i.e Lock-Out / Tag-Out, etc.) with a ‘do it right the first time’ mentality

* Self-sufficient and team oriented

* Own tools

* Computer literate – MS Office

* Willing and able to work assigned shift

Requirements:

* Responsible for electrical support related to installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment within the plant

* Perform minor mechanical repairs and assist the Millwrights as needed

* Ensure electrical equipment within the plant is regularly serviced and operating at maximum safe production levels

* Operate necessary equipment / tools to perform repairs

* Perform Electrical PM activities as outlined on all equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety

* Track completed work through a CMMS (labour hours, parts, repair comments, etc.)

* Work closely with plant personnel on troubleshooting and problem solving initiatives

* Participate in Lock-Out verification programs

* Complete relevant PM paperwork

* Perform any other reasonable duties as required or assigned by Management
