Licensed Pharmacy Technician
Job Title: Licensed Pharmacy Technician Reports To: Pharmacist
Status: Full Time/ Part Time
Hours of Work: Monday-Friday and some weekends 9am – 8:00 pm
Job Summary
The Pharmacy (Laboratory) Technician assists the pharmacist in fulfilling prescriptions, welcoming patients and dispensing medication. He or she must provide excellent customer care, and is also responsible for purchasing laboratory merchandise.
Job Responsibilities
- Process medication orders, vial, blister, strip-pouch and compounding
- Manage various inventories
- Maintain dispensing and packaging equipment and supplies
- Prepare reports and provide feedback from colleagues and clients to Pharmacy Manager
- Provide knowledgeable, courteous and professional service at all times
- Establish a rapport with customers and colleagues to ascertain their needs and expectations
- Maintain good working relationships with all suppliers and colleagues
- Ensure that all databases are current and accurate
- Perform all duties in accordance with current laws, regulations, standards, policies and procedures
Qualifications
Certificate/Diploma
- Grade 12 Graduate
- Graduation from a recognized pharmacy technician course or two years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience in a Canadian Pharmacy
- Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician
- Experienced using Nexxsys
- At least 3 years experience
- Must be willing to work in another store location
Skills
- Able to work with deadlines and maintain confidentiality at all times
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of attention to detail, including dates, names and spelling
- Highly developed sense of customer care
