MOLDING AND FINISHING OPERATOR
Terms of Employment: Full Time/Temporary
Salary: $16.00
Anticipated Start Date: ASAP
Times: 6:00 am –3:00pm/ 3:00 pm –1:30am (pending on schedule time)
Duration: 45hr work week for 4-6 weeks
Location: Stevensville, ON
Education: Completion of High School
Work Setting: WAREHOUSE
Job Positions: Molding operator and finishing operator
Duties: Molding operator:
- Operating and maintenance of the sand mixers
- Making molds and cores
- Repairing molds and cores
- Preparing and coating molds/cores surfaces
- Inserting cores into the molds/closing the molds
- Identifying the molds (marking)
- Updating molding/core making production
- Ensuring that all Work instructions and procedures are followed
- Assisting molding supervisor with patterns/core boxes inventory
- Cleanliness of work area
Finishing operator:
- Operation and maintenance of the wheelabrator
- Removal of rigging components (risers and gating), ensuring identification by placing into marked bins
- Operation of the swing abrasive cut-off and swing grinder
- Air-arc gauging, torch and oxygen cutting, plasma cutting, grinding
- Weld repair of castings
- All production reports, job records and quality documents are completed, legible and sent to the appropriate management at the end of shift
- Cleanliness of equipment and work area
- Reporting any equipment problems
Requirements: Compliance with company safety requirements
- Process detail for molding and core making
- Completion of all job records
- Must have metatarsal boots
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, and standing for extended periods, must be able to lift 30Ibs minimum. Work place may be noisy.
Essential Skills: Must be literate in English, must be able to read and understand work instructions/procedures, Oral communication,
