Poultry Labourer – LIVE RECEIVING
Terms of Employment: Full Time, Days
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Hours: 6:20am-finish
Pay Rate: $15.85
Location: Port Colborne
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Work Setting: The Live Poultry Handler works in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. They are responsible for the loading and unloading of crates containing live chickens as well as the receiving and hanging of live chickens.
Duties: Receiving, handling and hanging of live chickens according to humane animal welfare standards. Maintains productivity that meets/exceeds standards. Working in receiving bay to unload crates from trucks and reloads empty crates on to trucks.
Specific Skills: Must be able to stand and walk throughout the shift for extended periods of time. Must have a healthy work environment, while maintaining high food safety and health and safety standards. Must be able to handle and work with livestock and must be able to work in various season temperature. It is a fast-paced work environment with repetitive lifting and hanging.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, lifting 50lbs, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Standing for extended periods.
Work Site Environment: Odors, Cold/Refrigerated
