Position Title: Chef de Partie jr

Reports To: Executive Chef

Wage: $19.21

Position Summary: Responsible for the supervision and preparation of meals and beverages in a timely and efficient manner consistent with high quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Providing personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunity
• Ensures Team Members have all the foods necessary to serve the menu items
• Responsible for supervision and cooking preparation of soup stocks and other preliminary prep of foods based on menu requirements for Lounge and Dining Room
• Supervises and directs kitchen Team Members by scheduling workload and assisting Team Members when required
• Executes Dining Room main line
• Ensures the rotation of food stocks and performs inventory control function
• Checks the kitchen daily sheets to ensure that food items and special menu items are available
• Ensures the kitchen standards are upheld at all times both personally and by team members
• Having a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties’ products and services
• Suggesting additional products and services meeting our Guests’ specific preferences
• All other duties as assigned

Professional Requirements:

•  Red Seal Certification
• Apprentice Papers plus 1-3 years fine dining experience
• Training in food safety, WHMIS and other health and safety training required
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Bend and lift 30-60 lbs daily
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures of hot and cold
• Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations in a dynamic environment
• Excellent time management skills
• Current Safe Food Handler’s Certificate
• Previous up-selling and/or sales experience is considered an asset
