Position Title: Chef de Partie jr
Reports To: Executive Chef
Wage: $19.21
Position Summary: Responsible for the supervision and preparation of meals and beverages in a timely and efficient manner consistent with high quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Providing personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunity
- Ensures Team Members have all the foods necessary to serve the menu items
- Responsible for supervision and cooking preparation of soup stocks and other preliminary prep of foods based on menu requirements for Lounge and Dining Room
- Supervises and directs kitchen Team Members by scheduling workload and assisting Team Members when required
- Executes Dining Room main line
- Ensures the rotation of food stocks and performs inventory control function
- Checks the kitchen daily sheets to ensure that food items and special menu items are available
- Ensures the kitchen standards are upheld at all times both personally and by team members
- Having a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties’ products and services
- Suggesting additional products and services meeting our Guests’ specific preferences
- All other duties as assigned
Professional Requirements:
- Red Seal Certification
- Apprentice Papers plus 1-3 years fine dining experience
- Training in food safety, WHMIS and other health and safety training required
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Bend and lift 30-60 lbs daily
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures of hot and cold
- Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations in a dynamic environment
- Excellent time management skills
- Current Safe Food Handler’s Certificate
- Previous up-selling and/or sales experience is considered an asset

Physical Requirements:
- Good physical condition for bending, lifting and standing for extended periods of time
