Full-Time General Labourer (Abatement/Demolition)
Job Description
Job Title: Abatement/Demolition General Labourer
Location: St Catharines
Starting Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
Terms of Employment: Monday to Friday 8 am to (Approximately) 4 pm finish time, and some weekends
PPE Required: Steel Toe Shoes/Boots
PPE Provided: Safety glasses; hard hat, gloves, vests, respirator (when required)
Dress Code: Prepared to work both indoors and outdoors
Work Setting: Constructions sites, residential, commercial, indoor, and outdoor
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Able to lift up to 50lbs
Duties: Set up of enclosures, removal of enclosures, demolition work of asbestos removal
Job Description:
As an Abatement/Demolition Labourer, your responsibilities will include:
- Adhere to all health & safety policies and operating procedures
- Remove hazardous materials-containing building products from buildings in residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional work sites.
- Install containment systems to effectively prepare for removals
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials
- Perform various selective interior demolition tasks such as tile/floor removal
- Work collaboratively within a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Operate a range of equipment and machinery, including hand and power tools
- Safely remove hazardous waste materials from work sites, remove all rubble/debris, and prepare and clean work sites and company equipment.
- Lift heavy materials up to 50 lbs
