Shift: Afternoon shift, Monday to Friday, 3PM to 11:30PM

Position Summary

Shift Supervisor shall be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of packaging on shift, such as inspectors, precision workers, packaging assistants, and system operators. Shift Supervisor shall ensure that production schedules and packaging is followed and completed on time.

Job Duties

• Confer with Production Manager and QA to resolve packaging, worker problems, complaints and grievances
• Enforce safety and sanitation regulations
• Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the packaging or processing of goods, e.g. inspectors, fabricators, etc.
• Provide motivation for shift employees, increasing morale, and positive work environment
• Increase shift worker efficiency and production rates
• Monitor employee performance
• Work with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments
• Demonstrate equipment operations, work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training
• Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules and other records / reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs

Requirements

• Diploma in a related field
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• 1-2 years experience as a production supervisor
• Production experience preferred
• Microsoft Office experience
• Proficient on computer
• Direct working knowledge of operations
• Able to maintain basic diary/minutes management
• Knowledge of local regulations and ordinances
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Meticulous records maintenance skills
• Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization
• Strong customer service orientation
• First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered assets

Work Conditions

• Able to lift at least 50 lbs
• Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
• Overtime as required
• Production floor safety issues
