Full-Time Shipping Packing Operator (1 Position)
Job Description
Job Gym is currently assisting Barbican, located in Fort Erie. Barbican provides high design, high quality product offerings consisting of Commercial Lighting, Architectural Walls, Ceiling Systems and Acoustical Solutions. They are currently seeking to fill a Shipping Packing Operator position. This position will be under that direction of the Production Supervisor, is responsible for ensuring that packaging being completed for our high quality products is being completed in an efficient and timely manner. This individual will be actively involved in the packaging and shipping process including quality control and completing necessary documentation for the shipment of our items.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble, pack and ship inventory
- Check quality of Products. Ensure items are working properly, and all items in place prior to shipping.
- Assemble lights, electronics and/ or wall items and get them ready for packing and shipping.
- Ensure items are stickered and labelled correctly for shipping.
- Complete all paperwork required for the assigned tasks.
- Update ERP System to ensure jobs are completed and closed once items are gone.
- Prepare and submit manifests for invoicing and shipping.
- Follow up with appropriate personnel concerning advanced payments to customers, prior to shipping.
- Ensure shipping documents (i.e. pictures) are taken prior to departure of products.
- Report product, process issues to the Supervisor
- Following all product handling procedures for Standard Operating Procedures and Safety.
- Maintain general housekeeping of work area.
- Any additional duties assigned by supervisor, management or authorized personnel such as other team leads, supervisors, designers all of which to be authorized by management

Qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma/GED
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Positive work ethic and attitude.
- Ability to effectively communicate bother verbally and in writing.
Physical Requirements:
- Repetitive work
- Exposure to chemicals
- Noisy Environment
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Overtime may be required
- Being able to work standing, bending and kneeling for long periods of time
- Working it hot or cold temperatures
- Ability to wear PPE.
Working Conditions:
- Work independently
- Standing daily for 8 hours
- Clear understanding of Covid restrictions as outlines by Government of Canada
