Local Fort Erie Company is seeking a Certified Tig Welder

Job Gym is currently assisting local employer in Fort Erie for recruiting Certified Tig Welder candidate.  This position is a full time permanent position.  The employer is offering a competitive compensation that will be negotiated based on skills, experience and performance.  Employee and customer safety is the company’s top priority so safe distancing and sanitizing procedures are in place.

The employer, specializes and experienced in aerospace applications to MIL-STD-2219 Military Standard Fusion Welding for Aerospace Applications GTAW (TIG) tungsten inert gas.

The candidate will be a Certified Tig Welder and has an interest and enjoys this line of work, with a natural strong attention for detail.  Only candidates with Tig Certificates will be reviewed.

Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and layout jobs using blueprints, diagrams and fixtures following welding procedures to TIG weld in all positions including the use of rotary turntables for manual welding
  • Inspect, maintains and logs preventative maintenance on equipment needed for welding and fabricating
  • Set up machines according to work instruction to trim, size, form, inspect, and GTAW (Tig weld) material to meet fabrication drawing requirements
  • Drawing review and compliance for final dimensions, weld note callouts, base material and filler material selection
  • Solvent cleaning, trimming, sizing and polishing to prepare weld joints for welding
  • Tack welding, fabrication of shop aids and fixtures to assist fabrication and welding
  • Visual weld inspection using fillet weld gauges, calipers, micrometers, height gauges and final weld fixtures
  • Weld inspection for weld size, face and root reinforcement, cracks, inclusions and porosity
  • Lean Manufacturing, general housekeeping, work in a teaming environment, 5S
  • Daily compliance to customer drawings and specifications to maintain aerospace Quality Standards
  • Complies with internal quality system and regulatory requirements
  • Maintains qualification for welding certifications
  • Cleans work area, tools, and equipment at end of shift
  • Follows all business policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality history
  • Makes decisions based on experience and available data
  • Required minimal supervision to plan and schedule workload according to production schedule to meet manufacturing needs
  • Strives to meet or exceed job requirements
  • Expected Areas of Competence:
  • Good attention to detail and eye/hand coordination skills
  • Uses mathematical and reading skills
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and work instructions
  • Ability to read/write/speak English

Work Environment

  • May be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, smoke (Not over OH&S Permissible Exposure Levels)
  • Safety training and equipment are provided in accordance with applicable law, industry standards and company policy
  • Occasionally lift 25-45lbs
